As organizations evaluate their staff members for senior-level roles they often consider a person's demonstrated resilience and fortitude. Some questions that get asked are:
How have we seen the person bounce back when they experienced failure or disappointment?
How did the person respond when we asked them to increase their capacity and carry a heavier load?
Did the person's attitude change when they were challenged?
How did the person treat peers and subordinates when under a great deal of stress?
How was the person's self-care and well-being affected by being in a season of difficulty or uncertainty?
In simple terms, the higher you go in any organization, the more challenges you will face. Organizations assess your ability to deal with heavy doses of difficulty before they assign you that next-level role.
If you have a senior level role in your sights, this may be a development area you need to focus on to help you to get to where you want to be.
